Now in its third year, the 2013 Music Frees All Festival will take place over three days, July 19-21: a Friday night kickoff event, a big Saturday night show, and a Sunday full-day party with bands, vendors, and food/drinks.
Originally conceived by Miles Arntzen (drummer/bandleader with Antibalas, EMEFE, Superhuman Happiness and more), the 2013 Festival is powered by a team of up-and-coming heavyhitters in the industry who have worked with Red Hot Organization, Lincoln Center, BadaBing Records, Newer Sounds, and a plethora of venues around and outside of NYC.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Scotty Hard Trust, raising funds for legendary Brooklyn-based producer Scott Harding. On February 16 2008, as Scotty was leaving a late night session at his Brooklyn studio, a stolen car broadsided the taxi he was traveling in, paralyzing him below the chest, sending him into complicated spinal reconstruction surgery and hospitalization. To friends and admirers alike, Scotty is a true inspiration. Though his spirits remain high throughout his tough times, Scotty Hard continues to need our support.
